PRINCIPAL / PARTNER / APPRAISER

Paul Throndsen has been appraising since 1976 and was with Appraisal Associates, Inc. from 1981 to 1993, and a partner from 1985 through 1993. He was formerly a staff appraiser with Mulcock Appraising, and prior to that he was in mortgage banking. Mr. Throndsen received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance with a real estate emphasis (1974) and MBA (1976) from the University of Utah. He became a member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI) in 1984 and served as President of the Utah Chapter of the Appraisal Institute in 1994. He has also served on numerous committees since 1982, including Chairman of Admissions, Government Affairs, and Education. National service includes National Board of Examiners - Experience (MAI subcommittee) from 1986 to 1990. Mr. Throndsen has served as President and Chairman of the Board of Comp-U-Share, Inc., a group of local appraisal companies cooperating in a market data pooling system. Mr. Throndsen was also selected as a Trustee for the Utah Association of Appraisers, an industry group overseeing legislative and government issues affecting appraisers. He served as its President in 1996 and 2002.  He also served on the Experience Review Committee for Utah State Board of Appraisers 1991 to 2008.  Mr. Throndsen was appointed to the Utah State Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board by the Governor and served from 2008 to 2016, and was Vice-Chairman for two years.  He is a Utah Certified General Appraiser (5451070-CG00). Mr. Throndsen is a qualified expert witness in both federal and district courts.

​Jacob Throndsen graduated from University of Utah in 2006 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Economics. He joined Appraisal Group in 2007. He is a Certified General Appraiser in the State of Utah and an associate member of the Appraisal Institute. Jacob has experience in the appraisal of vacant land, office buildings, shopping centers, retail buildings, restaurant, medical buildings, residential subdivisions, easements, apartments, self-storage facilities, industrial, manufacturing, and office/warehouse building.
